New Book Sparks Conversation with Kansas City Male Executives

Global Expert, Author, Angel Investor Gives Tips to Area Business Leaders

KANSAS CITY, Mo (October 30, 2018) — Global expert, author and angel investor Rania Anderson, will be the keynote speaker at “WE: Men, Women, and the Decisive Formula for Winning at Work,” an event titled after her new book, on November 15 at the Midland Theatre.

Anderson will share a code-breaking behavioral framework to help companies and their leadership reap dividends on their investment in women and close the gender gap.

The event is presented by Bank of America and community partners Kansas City Area Development Council, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and OneKC for Women.

Entrepreneurs and leaders will gain practical advice and tangible insights — that will transform the way men and women work, lead and succeed together. Her book is the first hands-on manager’s guide to recruit, retain and advance high-caliber women in the workplace.

“Like companies across the county, Kansas City is facing a talent shortage that is expected to worsen,” said Gary Jankowitz, Kansas City market president for Bank of America. “Attracting, retaining and growing quality talent is critical for businesses and communities to grow and maximize potential. Anderson’s strategies can be implemented by any leader who recognizes that being inclusive benefits everyone.”

“Much has been written about the need for and benefits of gender diversity in business. Mixed gender teams make better decisions, understand clients and the market better, and deliver higher results. “Most men want to support women at work,” said Anderson. “But they tell me that they don’t know how. This session is about what you can do, not what your company needs to do, to improve results by transforming the way you work with women and ultimately make gender parity a reality.”

“As a business leader, you have the opportunity to change your workplace every day, and this should be your playbook,” Dominic Barton, Global Managing Partner, McKinsey & Company, said of Anderson’s new book.
